Delegates from and affiliated to Edinburgh Northern and Leith Constituency Labour Party made the most of their opportunities to contribute to this year’s Conference.
First up on Saturday was the Women’s Conference. Co-chair and delegate Frances Hoole had our CLP’s motion on incontinence pads included in the period poverty composite which will now go forward to the Scottish Women’s conference.
See more of Saturday with these great photos from Gus Campbell.
Co-chair Steven Howson spoke in the debate on Open Selection for Westminster MPs.
Scott Hartles, our Trade Union Liaison Officer, attending as a Communication Workers Union delegate, spoke in the Housing debate, using the platform to highlight the local Save Leith Walk campaign.
Our Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Westminster Gordon Munro spoke with passion about In Work Poverty.
All our delegates found events at Liverpool positive and motivating.
If the rumoured General Election is called, we’d like to quote Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell’s speech:-
“Bring it ON!”
