Council workers are providing support and assistance for citizens in crisis from the Social Work office upstairs in Newkirkgate Shopping Centre. This is only for those:

Glass Recycling

There will be some of you struggling with the withdrawal of the blue bin service as main waste deliveries are prioritised whilst at the same time ensuring safe working conditions for waste teams. Communal on street bins are still being serviced and there will now be a dedicated officer to ensure that the increased uplift from supermarket containers copes with the heavy demand.

Please recycle responsibly and if bins are overflowing report these as above and return when recycling can be done.

Leithers don’t Litter

Unfortunately they do and as reported by local heroes Leithers don’t Litter there is a problem with discarded disposable gloves littering Leith. Please help us all and help to keep down any potential virus spread by taking these home for responsible disposal in your normal waste collection.
