Investment in your local community

Park Improvements:

The Local Labour Team were at the opening of the two tennis and basketball courts at Victoria Park. This along with the Green Flag award for Starbank Park is great news for the quality of the parks in the local area. Thanks are due to the hard work of the Friends of Starbank Park, Trinity Community Council and parks officers.

Community Safety:

SNP Government’s chaotic implementation of Police Scotland fails to provide local accountability and has coincided with house breaking and motorcycle crime. Local Labour Team have led the successful campaign for extra policing in North Edinburgh. Edinburgh Council has agreed to fund £2.6m from its own funds for local community officers.

Roads and Pavements:

Councillor Day, as Chair of the Forth Neighbourhood Partnership, has secured nearly £500,000 to improve the environment in the area. The money has been allocated after close consultation with community groups. Schemes include upgrading roads in Granton Road, South Trinity Road, Denham Green Avenue, Denham Green Place, Craighall Crescent, Bangholm Place, Bangholm Avenue and Laverockbank Road
